The Nevada Wild 400 Information

  1. Registration takes place 100% online. This means, if you haven’t pre-registered, and plan on registering at the track you’ll still need to do it online. So, DO IT NOW and save some time at the track.

  2. Main pit area is located at the end of Thorne rd. 38.602363, -118.590650.   From Highway 95 take a left (North) on Thorne rd. Follow that about 5.5 miles. Just after the 4 railroad tracks, Take a left onto Schurz Road. Do not pit in the first 300 feet from the intersection.  Pitting is ok on either side of the course. The pit area is rather soft in some areas, so be careful. ​

  3. Please!!!! Do not park your RV or trailers parallel with the course. We are going to have a lot of racers and need to conserve as much space as possible. You will be asked to move and set your pit up.

  4. Please be sure to see the race schedule on the website. 

  5. You will not need to purchase a transponder if you already have one. Legacy, BITD and Snore all use the same transponders that we do

  6. The majority of the Racing Trax tracker fee is built into the entry fee, you will need to sign up at Racing Trax.com and pay an additional $100 for the tracker

  7. Pre-Running must take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Pre Running is at your own risk. Local laws and speed limits must be followed. Do not count on VORRA to be there to be rescued if a problem does happen.

  8. Be sure to set your pit area at both remote pits at least 50 feet from the course. Pit 1-4 all have a ton of room for pitting.

  9. Pro Pit will be located at Pit 1 and pit 3 in the normal V2R Rawhide pit. You will only be able to access Pro Pit coming from the Fallon North End on the Rawhide highway.

  10. Pit 1/3 location 38°58'11"N 118°20'42"W. It’ll take about 2 hours to get to this pit. See the separate pit letter for directions get from main pit to this location.

  11. Pit 2 location39°20'24"N 118°35'08"W take about 1:30 minutes to get from the main pit to this location. See the Separate pit directions

  12. Pit 4 location 38°33'12"N 118°18'39"W and is our typical Hawthorne pit east of town.  See the separate pit direction form. 

  13. Pit 1/3 will be manned by Pro Pit. Pro Pit is a professional pit org that VORRA covers the tab for. Please drop off fuel, spare tires, oil, and spare parts during tech on Friday evening.

  14. We have a pre-race party set for Thursday night at Barleys Sports bar. Come enjoy some good food, drink, stories and support the town.

  15. Tech and Registration will take place in town at Barleys sports bar. You can drive your race car into town.  Please follow race course arrows into town. You will drive past several homes. Please take it slow and keep engine noise as low as possible.

  16. Racers will Register first then tech. If you are qualifying you will only need to register before qualifying.  Do not loose your packets!

  17. Also be sure to check out Mr. Beanes coffee for all your coffee needs. 768 E St, Hawthorne, NV.

    1. Start Finishing to Pit 1 = 32 miles​

    2. Pit 1 to Pit 2 = 35 miles

    3. Pit 2 to Pit 3 = 47 miles

  20. Please remember to respect your neighbor in the main pit area and being the main pit area is located on the Army Depot land. We are guests, please respect the land so we can return. 

Wednesday  May 7th

Main pit location: End of Thorne Road. Same as V2R pit area.

7:00 - 18:00       Open Pre-Running, Speed limit is 35MPH! Be advised, these are open roads used for local traffic. Ranching, Mining and other local business. Please proceed with caution. Pre Runing is 100% at your own risk. There will be no support, no recovery, fuel deliveries and so forth. VORRA cannot be responsible in the case of an emergency. Please proceed with the utmost safety and awareness. Also note this is a trial basis. The Pre-run may be shut down due to people not following the rules or for not being safe. Let’s try to make this a regular habit.

Note: Pre-running is open on only Wednesday and Thursday. Anyone who is found on the racecourse before Wednesday, or on Friday will be DQ’d. Anyone who is found on the racecourse that has not signed the waiver associated with a race car will be DQ’d. Sign the waiver, and a enjoy a little slice of the past with open pre running

Thursday May 8th

Friday May 9th

Qualifying is limited to pro classes only- Class UT, 1, 6100, 10, Group-T, 4400, Pro turbo UTV, & Pro N/A UTV, Pro stock Turbo, and N/A UTV, Qualifying results will result in an overall start position. If you choose not to qualify, you will start in the normal class starting order- following all those who complete the qualifying loop. To comply with BLM regulations, there is a $100.00 entry to qualify.  Overall Fast time wins $300 for trucks/buggy and $200 for fast pro turbo/Unlimited, $ 200 For Pro N/A. Minimum 5 per group for payback.

Qualifying lineup will be based on the Prospector 250 overall finish results. The qualifying course is 4.5 miles long. Vehicle’s will start with 1-minute intervals.  If you choose not to Qualify, you will start behind ALL qualifiers, in the normal line up.
