About Us
Laura and BJ Butcher are the husband-and-wife owners of VORRA, serving as owners since 2018. Together, they lead the organization with a shared commitment to integrity, family, and the long-term future of off-road racing.
Long before ownership, both were deeply involved in VORRA as racers, volunteers, and active members of the community. They understand the organization from every angle — from the starting line to course setup, from tech inspection to awards, and from the countless behind-the-scenes efforts that make race weekends possible. That perspective shapes how they lead today.
As CEO, Laura focuses on vision, partnerships, land-use relationships, and organizational sustainability. As Race Director, BJ oversees event operations, course management, safety coordination, and race execution. While their titles define primary responsibilities, their leadership is collaborative — decisions are shared, tasks overlap, and responsibilities shift based on what each event requires. VORRA is very much a team effort.
VORRA Community
At its core, VORRA has always been about community. It is more than a race series — it is a family built on volunteerism, fairness, and respect for the land and for one another. Laura and BJ are committed to protecting that culture while guiding the organization forward with steady, responsible growth.

Grace
In 2025, their daughter Grace began her first year of youth racing, marking a meaningful new chapter for their family within the sport. Watching her line up at the starting line has deepened their commitment to preserving off-road racing as a place where families build lifelong memories together.
51 Years
Now entering 51 years since Ed and Jenny Robinson founded VORRA, Laura and BJ remain focused on honoring the legacy that built the organization — hard work, fairness, accessibility, and love for the desert. Their goal is simple: to leave VORRA stronger than they found it, while respecting the foundation laid by those who came before them.
