Yerington Information page:

1.The main pit area is VERY limited and is considered a hot pit only. We have 2.5 acres of land to work with for pitting. We encourage everyone to use an alternate camping area if possible. The main pit area will have 75 pit spots. Pit spots will be 20ft x 60ft. We will mark the pit width with chalk. Please try and team up with other racers if possible. If one pit is pitting for multiple vehicles, multiple pit spots can be used. There are additional camping areas at Wilson canyon rest area, this area has camping on both sides of the river. There are several RV parks in Yerington and at Weed Heights. Due to the holiday weekend, space may be limited. The Buckboard general store is located 5 miles from main pit. There will be space for up to 30 RVS. Please respect this private landowner’s area. If main pit reaches capacity, you will be asked to move. Although this is not ideal, this is the hand we have been delt with this race and BLM permitting. How we deal with this situation will directly influence racing on BLM land in 2022.

  1. 2. Main pit location: 38.8430001, -119.2864726. Head north on Hudson Road from highway 208. Head over Walker River and stay to the left on Hudson Road. Main pit will be on your right. From Highway 208 it is 3.9 miles to the pit. Respect the speed limit on Hudson Road. There are several homeowners, plus the Walker River Resort. We expect this road to be very busy.

  2.

  3. 3. Main Pit to Pit A 39.0273069, 119.2589351 Visual B 38.978352, -119.2852769. And Visual C, 38.9984708, -119.3255368. Head South on Hudson way 3.9 miles. Turn Left (east) on Highway 208. Stay on Highway 208 for 20.1 miles. Stay Left at Y on highway 339. Turn Left onto Luzier Ln. Follow Luzier Ln for two miles, Turn right onto Mason pass road for 4.3 miles. Do not head straight onto Luzier lane past Mason pass road. Estimated time to Pit A is 40 minutes. There is no pitting at the visuals. Only recovery locations.

  4.

  5. 4. Main Pit to Pit B 39.0865424, -119.2712713. Pit D, 39.0708346, -119.3218451. Pro Pit, 39.1574292, -119.2465655. Head South on Hudson way 3.9 miles. Turn Left (east) on Highway 208. Stay on Highway 208 for 23.2 miles. Stay Left at Y on highway 339 and straight onto US-95. Turn Left onto Campbell Ln for 5.6 miles, Warning! This road goes through Yerington Indian Reservation. Follow the speed limits!!! Pit A is on your right. Pit D is 4.1 miles from Pit B on Campbell Ln. There will be a ton on 2-way traffic. Watch your speeds. Chasers can make it from Put A to D with plenty of time. I have personally seen roll overs and head on’s on this road during races. Additionally, the racecourse parallels the access road for about one mile. There is no stopping on this part of the road. You must pit in the pit area. Estimated time to Pit B 46 minutes.

  6.

  • All Mile’s noted below are estimates!!

  • The first 19 miles are all new course that have never been raced on before

  • At mile 15.5 the racecourse is somewhat off cambered and runs very close to a fence line. There will be no room for passing in this area.

  • At mile 15.9 there is a very hard right-hand turn, off cambered and down through a ditch. Use extreme caution in this area.

  • Pit A is on the North side of Luzier lane.

  • At mile 30.92, there is a very rocky steep downhill, proceed with caution

  • At mile 31.46 the racecourse is very close to the access road. Please be sure that no chase crews are stopped on this road. There will be a ton of traffic going to and from pit D.

  • Pit B is located on the north side of the access road.

  • At mile 33.38 is a very steep single lane road with a cliff on your right. We will have a recovery crew posted near this area to help with any log jams.

  • Once past the narrow pass you’ll head into the whoop section, famously named “Comfortably numb.”

  • Por pit will be accessible race mile 39 and 45 as needed.

  • After pro pit you will head west, the course comes to a dry lakebed. Go around the lakebed, if caught on the lakebed you will be DQ’d.

  • Race mile 62 you’ll head into Endo Alley. This is racecourse that has not been run in a long time. The name says it all. There are some nasty ditches and jumps in this area. This goes for all vehicles. Pay attention to the danger signs.

  • Race mile 70 has a very slow and rocky hill. Go slow and save your tires.

  • This course is fast! We expect the fast cars to average 55mph easy.

  1. We expect there to be a lot of spectators near and around the course. His course crosses several roads. All road crossings may not be monitored. Road crossing signs will be posted on the course. Please take your time and look while crossing.

  2. All chase crews must monitor their speeds on access roads. These roads will be very busy with two-way traffic.

  3. This race will be our (BJ and Laura) most difficult to date. But also, the most rewarding, as this race was our #1 goal to get back after we took over. Although we have limitations, please do your part to make sure this is a fun, safe and successful race!
